One thing about blogging is that you can sometimes fall into a rut. That has been me for the last little while, along with being incredibly busy, which at times can stunt my brain when it comes to thinking of what to write about. Once I decided to get back into blogging, I still found myself...stuck. Until I decided to revisit why I started blogging in the first place.
I just finished watching a Christian play written by a female director/writer. And I must say, incredibly powerful. I've seen others produced by her, and I have always been touched.
The play reignited a fire in me to push for the things that really matter to me. The pursuits that have been placed on my heart to do, do. To see her follow her passion as well as make an impact in my life was an incredible experience and just the jolt I needed to get back into my own passions. It made me think of all of the reasons that I started this journey and what I needed to reconnect to my dreams and keep pushing.
Motivation & Inspiration
Seeing others share their stories and life journeys has been an inspiration to me over the last few years, especially during the pandemic. It showed me how connected we can all be when we use the internet wisely, and it also made me feel less alone in the world, hearing from those who have similar life experiences to mine, even just the vulnerability to share. Hearing, reading, or watching others' stories has reminded me that life is not done alone. The goal isn't to idolize these people or create an unrealistic expectation in my life based on the highlight reel of someone else's life, but instead use it to motivate me to push for my own goals as I see others living the desires of their hearts.
Staying connected with those who are driven and have similar life goals and ambitions as mine continues to push me to get back on track, especially when I fall short. Knowing they are working hard, struggling, yet pushing through despite difficulties, reminds me that even through hard moments, even a small step is a step.
I especially learned to appreciate those who give glory to God for what He has done in their life. Continually, I am able to hear about how it truly comes down to seeking His will for your life, ultimately, and everything else will follow. This may not be for everyone, but it aligns with how I hope to live my life and always look to step back into it even when I fall off track. Sharing the ways they reached their goals. Are vulnerable when they struggle, and the joy when they reach their goals keeps me going.
The Why
Knowing why I decided to continue to reach my goals also reignited my enthusiasm for this dream. Experiencing life alongside others who share their stories has been life-changing for me. I feel like everyone can share, and it will come from a unique perspective; no two journeys are the same. There are so many different layers to my life, but one space that I absolutely love is my career in media production. As with many professions, there can be a lack of representation of women in some of these spaces, which was a part of my experience. As I walk along my journey, I wanted to share with others in similars space how I learn to navigate these experiences, even inevitably struggle, but continue to move forward. Hopefully, motivating working women who are looking for that balance in life, of working while continuing to prioritize self-care. I hope to share through life experience the things I learn, change, and gain along the way that work for me.
Impact
I look forward to sharing my life and experiences with others. Even if there is just one person who takes just a little portion of something that I have learned, and it saves them a little bit of time, that is what helped me. Learning from others so I could avoid having to start from the bottom. Even if one small thing I say, if it can inspire someone else to be motivated to discover what works for them, it will make all the difference. I may not know the reach or impact of what I write, but I know the little nuggets of wisdom that one person has shared that changed their life, and how that has made such an impact in my life and is a part of what has kept me going.
There is a part of me that appreciates this experience for me as well. This has given me an outlet to share my life and reflect on my experiences. It can allow me to journal the things I have learned and archive the ways that I have grown throughout my life and experience. I always have these moments to come back to, know where I started, and it encourages me toward accomplishing my goals. Even if it turns out it is just for me, it has changed at least one life, mine.
Discipline over Perfection
One thing I find myself struggling with is finding ways to stay motivated, even with all of the inspiration and purpose I still struggle. Whether life happens, I'm making excuses, I feel some type of way, whatever it is, at times I find myself so far from pursuing my goals. Sometimes it is fear that holds me back. I try all of the things that typically get me going again, and I even repeat the phrases I live by to see it that jumpstarts anything for me. One that has typically worked is something I heard years ago, "everything you've ever wanted is on the other side of fear". At times, no matter what I try, it still doesn't seem to get me into the groove of things. But one thing I learned along the way is that sometimes it just takes discipline. Even when I don't feel like it, even when I feel discouraged, even when I feel mentally blocked, even if I emotionally don't feel up to it, even if it when I'm worried it won't come out absolutely perfect. Do it. Just try. Take a small step, even if that is all that you've got. Just keep pushing. Stay consistent.
What works for me is starting with the little things. Becoming disciplined with every aspect of my life. It can be something as small as if I see something on the floor. Instead of thinking, i'll pick that up later, I do it right then and there. I use that in everything that I think to do, but continue to put off, no matter how small. This is where it starts for me. The more I do this in all of the areas in my life, the easier it becomes in the big moments that require me to give so much more of myself. It become more and more a part of who I am. The discipline in the little things shows up in the big moments in my life as well.
Whatever it takes to reignite your fire to push towards your goals. Tap in and do it. Dig deep into what motivates you, and you have true passion for. Take a moment to reflect on what truly inspires you and what ignites that spark within to make a difference. Surround yourself with positivity and encouragement, and seek out resources that align with your goals. Engage with like-minded individuals who share your passion and can provide inspiration and accountability. Stay consistent. You can even join me in making things happen as we embark on this journey together. Let’s create an environment where we can share our dreams, celebrate our achievements, and motivate each other to overcome any barriers we may face. Embrace the process, stay committed, and let your passion lead the way.
